New Underage Drinking Policy Discussed at Des Plaines Park District

A new policy to curb underage drinking may be coming to the Des Plaines Park District, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Officials are considering requiring wristbands at any events on park district property that is serving alcohol. Maine Community Youth Assistance Foundation tested the idea during a survey at three festivals last year and they were found effective on reducing underage alcohol purchases, the newspaper reports. The proposed policy will be discussed again on June 18.
