I was born in Chicago and grew up in Evanston. I graduated from Northwestern University and Georgetown University Law Center. I've been a business and real estate lawyer since 1978, with a focus on real estate tax issues. My wife, Betty, was Regional President of the PTA. We have two daughters, Rachel and Sarah, both of whom graduated from Palatine High School. I've been active in local Democratic politics since 2001 and was an active volunteer for Congresswoman Melissa Bean. In 2007, I attended Senator Barack Obama's Springfield speech announcing his candidacy for President. I volunteered for the Obama campaign in Iowa, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. I attended the Democratic National Convention in Denver, the Grant Park rally on election day, and the inauguration in Washington, DC. In 2010, I ran unsuccesfully for State Representative. I was proud to support President Obama in his re-election campaign. I'm now a candidate for Palatine Township Democratic Committeeman. My focus is on identifying new Democratic volunteers here in the northwest suburbs. Visit my website at www.mattflamm.org to learn more.
