ReplyThe recent survey you mention is probably the one conducted by the City. For information about that survey, you might want to contact City Hall.
At the present time, the Park District does not have a suitable location for a dog park, but we support the City's goal of creating one in Des Plaines. In the meantime, the Park District Commissioners believe there are a number of health and fitness benefits to allowing residents to walk and jog with their dogs in the parks. Our next Park Board meeting is on Tuesday, July 17, at 7:00pm in the David L. Markworth Board Room of the Administrative and Leisure Center (2222 Birch Street, 847-391-5700). The public is always encouraged to attend these meetings. -

Hi Kris,
Now you can! Out Board voted to allow people to walk their dogs in the parks. The dogs must be on a leash at all times. We are working on the bag dispensers and signs now. See you in the parks!
