Thanks Gerry. Someone told me that was later 3d Brigade, 85th Division National Guard and the Army Reserve, is that right? I had not heard of Kraml Dairy before.

It opened as Cock Robin in 1964 or 1965, and became Top's in 1967. Frejlach's was the area Big Boy franchisee prior to Top's, but I haven't been able to find if they were related in any other way.

The reasons vary; some are private owners, some are government buildings. There's not a policy in place that has specific plans earmarked for sites, but the city does have a comprehensive plan and zoning plans available on their website. If you want to talk to someone in City Hall, I would encourage you to talk to City Manager Mike Bartholomew, as there isn't currently a permanent head of Community and Economic Development. A historic preservation ordinance would help to enhance the main street character that we do have, and the Main Street Program has many recommendations for the same. It would be helpful to have a more specific vision and policy in place.

By 1905 the Riverview Canning building was being leased by Fisk-Kyle Company. A map shows a husking shed and the note that the factory was in use only about 6 weeks a year.
