Police: ‘Elmer Fudd Bandit’ Arrested

Law enforcement reported they believe a man they arrested in connection with a bank robbery in Kentucky is the same man who robbed several other Chicago-area banks in October.

Law enforcement reported they believe they arrested a man is responsible for five armed bank robberies, and an attempted armed bank robbery in Des Plaines, in Kentucky. Todd Berkley, 39, dubbed the “Elmer Fudd Bandit” by the FBI due to the flannel shirts and caps seen on a male suspect in surveillance video, was arrested at an apartment building by Kentucky State Police and the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department on Nov. 2, the Grayson County News Gazette reported. Law enforcement received an anonymous tip following a bank robbery that occurred at a U.S. Bank in Louisville on Thursday, the Grayson County News Gazette reported, Berkley was arrested for the outstanding felony warrant in Illinois, first-degree robbery and possession of heroin…
