Mother: Gacy Victim Not My Son

DNA tests were conducted on the remains of a boy found at John Wayne Gacy’s residence in 1978, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

A DNA analysis of one of serial killer John Wayne Gacy’s victims showed the remains were misidentified, according to the boy’s family, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Sherry Marino, mother of Michael Marino, who went missing in 1976, has long-suspected her son was not one of Gacy’s victims. Dental records were used to identify the remains at the time. Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart began a renewed effort to determine the identification of eight of Gacy’s victims in 2011. One of the eight was identified as William George Bundy using DNA testing in November 2011. Another presumed Gacy victim, Harold Wayne Lovell, was found alive in Tampa, FL in October 2011. The remains of another person thought to be a Gacy victim, Daniel Raymond Noe, were …

Remains of Man Thought to Be Gacy Victim Found in Utah

Daniel Raymond Noe, a surveyor and factory worker from Peoria, was 21 years old in 1977 when he moved to Bellingham, Washington for work, according to police. Noe called his father on Sept. 30, 1978, and told him he wanted to complete his college degree at Northwestern University in Evanston, and planned to hitchhike back to …

Gacy Victim Identified

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart announces identity of victim No. 19.

One of eight unknown Gacy victims has been identified by police, Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart announced Tuesday. The identification of William George Bundy, who disappeared in October 1976, was made after a renewed effort to identify the unknown victims began earlier this year. The Gacy case began in Des Plaines. Advancements in DNA technology made the identification of Bundy, formerly known as victim No. 19, possible, according to a press release published by the sheriff’s office. “Closure is great but my only wish in this particular case would have been that we could have provided some sort of closure for William’s mother and father before they passed away,” Dart said in the release. “I do hope and pray that Laura and Robert might find …

I also knew one of his victim's darrell sampson. i too expressed that i didn't believe the "runaway" theory. but it was 2 1/2 years from the day Darrell disppeared until my "denial" as it was called was vindicated and Darrell's body was identified. such a sad day, that "monster" took so much from so many and i think it is wonderful what they are doing with the DNA testing. Those guys deserve a …   more ›
