Chicago Comedy Tradition Onstage at Des Plaines Theatre
Producers of stand-up show look for traction in second show in monthly series.
Three Chicago area comedians will take the stage at Des Plaines Theatre on Saturday in the second show of a new monthly comedy series at the renovated performance venue. Jessica Avila, co-producer, of Chicago, grew up in Des Plaines and said she wanted to bring live entertainment back to the suburban city. About 125 tickets were sold for the first show on Feb. 4, and Avila said she hoped they could sell at least that amount for this show as well, which features comedians Danny Kallas, Joe Fernandez and Lewis Rhine. “There are a lot of great comedians in Chicago, and I just feel that their names need to be out there in the suburbs more,” Avila said.
