Des Plaines Fights Casino Expansion Bill

Officials fear expansion will hurt new casino's revenue

Mayor Martin Moylan and other Des Plaines officials were in Springfield Monday fighting the casino expansion bill, according to an article at Triblocal.com. The bill, which passed the House and at press time is pending approval in the Senate, would make room for casinos in Chicago and the south suburbs and also allow gambling at O'Hare and Midway International Airports. Des Plaines officials fear the expansion will bring in less revenue to the new Rivers Casino, set to open in July. Read the full story at Triblocal.com.
