Locals Gearing Up For Election Day

The polls open at 6 a.m. for residents to cast their ballots for midterm elections.

On the day before Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 2, City of Des Plaines Clerk Gloria Ludwig said her office was preparing for a possible flood of calls. "Even though the Cook County Clerk's Office has sent out numerous reminders of where to vote, we are geared up to answer those calls (Tuesday)," Ludwig said in a phone interview Monday. "Generally, what people want to know is, 'Where do I go vote?'" Ludwig and her staff will be directing Des Plaines residents to the suburban Cook County Clerk's website , where they can find polling places, view sample ballots and more.
