Skokie Ambulance Company Responds To Employee Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Skokie resident and former EMT at MedEx Ambulance in Skokie Kristian Hernandez was charged with a fatal hit and run on Friday. Hernandez had an extensive criminal history, authorities said, and his employer has responded to questions regarding his past.

Skokie based MedEx Ambulance issued a press release on Monday regarding the fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a Park Ridge man in Des Plaines on Nov. 5. Kristian Hernandez, 36, of the 8200 block of Knox Avenue in Skokie, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident resulting in a death, a Class I felony. Patch reported on Nov. 6 that 53-year-old Park Ridge resident Ronald Bougan was found dead about six feet from Touhy Avenue near Axehead Lake, just east of the I-294 expressway in Des Plaines, on Nov. 5. Skokie EMT Charged in Fatal Hit-and-Run

A Skokie man has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident resulting in a death. The suspect killed a Park Ridge man in Des Plaines on Nov. 5, authorities said.

Skokie resident Kristian Hernandez, 36, of the 8200 block of Knox Avenue, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident resulting in a death, a Class I felony, authorities said Friday. Patch reported on Nov. 6 that 53-year-old Park Ridge resident Ronald Bougan was found dead about six feet from Touhy Avenue near Axehead Lake, just east of the I-294 expressway in Des Plaines, on Nov. 5. A man riding his bicycle found Bougan in a grassy area and initially, in the dark, thought he was looking at a deer or other animal, authorities said. Park Ridge Man Killed in Touhy Avenue Hit-and-Run

A 52-year-old Park Ridge man was found dead near Axehead Lake, in a wooded area in unincorporated Des Plaines very close to Park Ridge Monday night. Police believe the incident may be a hit-and-run.

A 52-year-old Park Ridge man was found dead in a wooded area on Touhy Avenue near Axehead Lake, just east of the I-294 expressway, Monday evening. The man was identified as Ronald Bougan, 52. He was probably struck by a vehicle, based on track marks and evidence recovered by Cook County Sheriff's police, said Frank Bilecki, spokesman for the Cook County Sheriff's office, which responded to the scene about 5:20 p.m. Monday. Investigators do not yet know the time the accident which killed Bougan took place. Family members had talked to Bougan in the morning, and investigators are trying to contact friends to place his whereabouts during the day. Police Seek Driver in Hit and Run

5-year-old victim suffered a fractured clavicle

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information concerning a hit and run accident on the 400 block of Hoover Road in the Oasis Mobile Home Park, 7500 Elmhurst Road, that left a 5-year-old boy with a fractured clavicle and multiple abrasions to come forward. The victim was playing with a friend around 3 p.m. on May 20 when he was struck by the vehicle on his left side, after he ran into the street to retrieve a ball. The boy was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital by the Elk Grove Township Fire Department. Both children gave authorities different descriptions of the vehicle – one said it was a small green car, while the other said it was a black SUV or pickup truck. Police Release Composite Sketch of Driver in Fatal Hit-and-Run

Suspect in death of teenager described as between 5' 8" and 6 feet with a goatee.

Des Plaines police have released a composite sketch of the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident on the night of Nov. 5 that killed 17-year-old Choice Taylor. The suspect is described as a white male between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall, with a thin/wiry build. He is also described as having a goatee and short brown or black hair. The suspect was driving a red or burgundy semi-tractor with no trailer. It did have a sleeper cab and is described as having an aerodynamic body style. Police Describe Vehicle in fatal Hit-and-Run

Witnesses have come forward with a description of the vehicle that killed 17-year-old Choice Taylor.

Witnesses have come forward with a description of the vehicle that was involved in the accident that killed 17-year-old Choice Taylor on Algonquin Road Friday. Police are looking for a dull red or maroon colored semi-tractor truck with no trailer. The vehicle had slowed down in westbound traffic and stopped at a stop sign on Third Avenue. Witnesses say it appeared that Choice walked up to the rear of the vehicle and somehow became stuck by the rear tires and was run over when the vehicle pulled forward. The driver stopped about a half a block up, exited the vehicle and inspected it for damage. It's possible that the driver was unaware that he had struck Choice. Family of Teen Killed in Hit-and-Run Remember Him And Appeal For Answers

Choice Taylor's family tell of a smart, fun-loving young man taken from them too soon as they appeal to anyone with information to please come forward.

"Sometimes I'm numb, other times I'm just overwhelmed," said Loreene Taylor, as she briefly broke into sobs while speaking of her 17-yeard-old son, Choice Taylor, who was killed Friday evening in a hit-and-run accident on Algonquin Road. "I expected him to come home," she said. "I didn't expect that he would leave home and be found dead in the street." Choice was walking down Algonquin Road Friday around 6 p.m. on his way to Jewel-Osco food store at 1500 S. Lee St., where he was an employee, to pick up his paycheck when he was struck by a driver who fled the scene. Another driver noticed the young man's lifeless body and contacted police. Police are still looking for driver that struck teen on Algonquin Road Friday.

A Des Plaines teenager killed in a hit-and-run accident that occurred Friday has been identified as Choice Taylor, 17.  He was found lying in the westbound lanes of 906 E. Algonquin Road at approximately 6:20 p.m. No further information about the victim is available at this time. Police are investigating. More details will be made available this afternoon.
