Mother: Gacy Victim Not My Son
DNA tests were conducted on the remains of a boy found at John Wayne Gacy’s residence in 1978, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
A DNA analysis of one of serial killer John Wayne Gacy’s victims showed the remains were misidentified, according to the boy’s family, the Chicago Sun-Times reported. Sherry Marino, mother of Michael Marino, who went missing in 1976, has long-suspected her son was not one of Gacy’s victims. Dental records were used to identify the remains at the time. Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart began a renewed effort to determine the identification of eight of Gacy’s victims in 2011. One of the eight was identified as William George Bundy using DNA testing in November 2011. Another presumed Gacy victim, Harold Wayne Lovell, was found alive in Tampa, FL in October 2011.
