UPDATE: An elderly Maine Township man who was last seen on Tuesday and may have been disoriented due to not taking some heart medication, was found at his Maine Township residence by a Cook County detective at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s office said. William L. Robinson, 81, of unincorporated Maine Township near Des Plaines, was last seen driving his white pickup truck to a grocery store at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, said Frank Bilecki, spokesperson for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office. Steven L. Robbins has returned to the custody of the Indiana Department of Corrections, Sheriff Thomas J. Dart said. Robbins, 44, made a brief court appearance Friday at the George N. Leighton Criminal Courthouse, located at 26th and California Ave., where a judge quashed the warrant for Robbins’ arrest that was issued after he was mistakenly released from Cook County Jail on Wednesday. Members of the Sheriff’s Police Central Warrants Unit returned Robbins early this afternoon to the Indiana Department of Corrections, where he is serving a 60-year sentence for murder and having a gun without a license. The Cook County Sheriff’s office is seeking the public’s help apprehending an offender that has been mistakenly released. Steven L. Robbins, 44 years of age, is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, and weighs 190 pounds. He has a tattoo on the right side of his neck that reads “Nicole.” Robbins was born in Gary, Ind. and is serving a sentence in the Indiana Department of Corrections for murder. The Sheriff has ordered an investigation into the facts and circumstances regarding his court appearance and release from custody. Law enforcement is searching for Robbins. Dart is warning senior citizens to be cautious when someone comes to their door claiming to be a worker and has no proper identification – that “worker” may be trying to rob them of their valuables. In this type of burglary, offenders pose as some type of home repair, utility, or village employee. They tell the victims they have a question or an issue they need to discuss with them and will try to lure them outside or in the basement. The “worker” often is talking in a language other than English to let another individual know when to come inside. While the victim is distracted with questions or offer of service from the “worker,” the other goes inside the residence and takes cash, jewelry, or other items…

I am sure there are so many victims that will be able to stand up against their abuser after hearing about this .. I hope this idiot gets what is coming to him .
