Does Gun Safety Ad Featuring Boys With Sex Toys Go Too Far?
What do dildos have to do with guns? A controversial public service announcement uses sex toys to make a point about gun safety.
A public service announcement promoting gun safety features two boys dueling with dildos with the tagline: "If they find it they will play with it. So always lock up your guns."
Raw Story reported the ad was created by the advocacy group Evolve. The ad has gone viral, the Raw story post was shared more than 3,300 times. The ad on Youtube has garnered more than 1.1 million views so far.
In the ad, which is attached to this post, a woman is picking up her son from a friends house. As the two moms talk they realize their sons are having a sword fight with dildos that, apparently, were not safely hidden.
Although it promotes safety, does the ad go too far to make its point? Is the ad effective, or simply effective at getting clicks?
