Congresswoman Duckworth Visits with Girls Scouts in Elk Grove Village

WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Wednesday January9, 2013, Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth visited with Girl Scout Troop #40293 in Elk Grove Village. Duckworth, a former girl scout, told the group her story of overcoming adversity and stressed the importance of girls reaching for their dreams. Congresswoman Duckworth was one of the first women to fly Blackhawk Helicopters as a member of the National Guard and she is the first female combat Veteran to serve in Congress.
