Teens Can Read for Starbucks Gift Card

The promotion is part of the library's summer reading program.

This week’s column was submitted by Joanie Sebastian, teen services librarian at the .

Teens in grades 7-12 are invited to discover how refreshing a good book can be by joining our Teen Summer Reading Club. Visit us on the third floor to register and pick up a reading log.

Teens that read four books or twenty hours from June 9 to Aug. 31 will be awarded a $5 Starbucks gift card.

Teens who love to read and write can also enter our book review contest for a chance to win a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card.

Book review forms can be picked up in the teen lounge on the 3rd floor of the library.  There is no limit to the number of reviews that can be entered, so keep reading and keep writing!

In addition to Reading Club, we are hosting a number of fun and delicious programs for teens. Some of the highlights include Life Size Candy Land on June 21, Candy Sushi on July 12 and Chopped Teens on July 26.

Our biggest summer event for teens takes place on July 6 when we host our 3rd annual Battle of the Bands. Six local teen bands will perform outside on library plaza from 6-9 p.m.
