Hundreds Gather for First Movie in the Park

Lake Park became a movie theater on Friday for the first time this season.

was transformed into an outdoor movie theatre on Friday, as hundreds gathered to view the classic Disney movie, The Lion King.

The next screening, on June 22, will be How To Train Your Dragon, the story of a young Viking dragon hunter, who learns a valuable lesson about friendship.

Earlier:

Popcorn, ice cream, cotton candy, snacks and soda will be available for purchase before the movie. In case of rain, the movie is rescheduled for the following Friday.

The free Friday Night Movie in the Park series is sponsored by the Des Plaines Optimist Club, a 58-year-old service club that partners with the Des Plaines Park District for family friendly-activities.
