Des Plaines and Park Ridge school districts are pumping up curriculum to help students keep up with increased demands in state standardized testing, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Jan Rashid, Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services in Des Plaines School District 62 told the Tribune that the district is preparing for less students to get a passing score on standardized tests, due to increased passing requirements on the Illinois Standards Achievement Test. If those requirements had been in place last year, 365,000 students would have failed the ISAT math test, the Tribune reports.
More information on the Illinois Standards Acheivement Test is available on the Illinois State Board of Education website.
