Local Dancers Perform at Breast Cancer Fundraiser
After celebrating their accomplishments in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk, participants were treated to a dance number by area dancers in Des Plaines.
Des Plaines was host to many area dancers this month, as the Midwest Dance Collected performed as part of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk, the Barrington Courrier-Review reports.
Dancers from Barrington, Lake Zurich and other nearby suburbs performed with the semi-professional dance company under the direction of Barring native Ellen Werkman, Friday, August 9, for the Susan G. Komen event at Maryville Academy in Des Plaines. The artistic performance was entitled “Watercolors," and was inspired by people who touch our lives and leave us with "water colored memories forever," said Werksman, who mother is a breast cancer survivor.
