Patch Poll: Should the U.S. Attack Syria?

As the president and Congress debate another military move in the Middle East, we ask how the idea of a U.S. strike hits home with you. Take the Patch Poll.

Should the United States launch an airstrike against Syria in response to the Syrian government's use of chemical weapons on its own people?

President Obama has asked Congress to authorize the use of military force, saying he won't put U.S. troops on the ground but military intervention is necessary after 1,400 people were killed in a chemical attack ordered by the Assad regime.

Members of Congress are questioning administration officials and seeking feedback from their constituents.

Leading polls indicate the American people are opposed. A Pew poll showed Americans opposing airstrikes by 48 percent against to 29 percent in favor, and a Washington Post/ABC News shows even more opposition, with 59 percent opposed to 36 percent in favor.
