Park Ridge Considers Paying Des Plaines for 911 Services

Park Ridge may pay Des Plaines $2.5 million for two years of service, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Park Ridge’s Committee of the Whole has voted to pay the city of Des Plaines $2.5 million per year for two years of emergency dispatch services, the Chicago Tribune reports.

The North Suburban Emergency Communication Center, which formerly handled 911 dispatch for Niles, Morton Grove, Des Plaines and Park Ridge, dissolved in August. Des Plaines later launched their own 911 call center, the Tribune reports. The Park Ridge City Council will vote again on the proposal to pay Des Plaines for 911 services on Feb. 18.
