Flood Cleanup Kits Distributed by Red Cross in Des Plaines

More than 300 flood cleanup kits began to be distributed by Red Cross volunteers on Wednesday, according to the City of Des Plaines.

Volunteers began distributing more than 300 flood cleanup kits at Des Plaines New Apostolic Church, 1740 Rand Road, on Wednesday, stated Karen Kozenczak, spokesperson for the City of Des Plaines, in an email to Patch. A Red Cross trailer is set up at the church to help those affected by the flood.

Red Cross volunteers Rick Daitchman, Rick George and Kim Sutker, and Des Plaines City Clerk Gloria Ludwig, helped hand out the flood cleanup kits.

The Red Cross also reopened the temporary shelter at Prairie Lakes Community Center, Kozenczak stated.
