Des Plaines Theatre Code Compliance to be Discussed

Fire curtain, furnace room, boiler room among building code violations to be reviewed.

A Building Code Committee meeting called to discuss four pages of code compliance issues for the Des Plaines Theatre is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 9. A fire curtain, the boiler room and the furnace room are among the items to be reviewed.

Some of the items had a compliance date of Dec. 15, and, when it was determined the theater had outstanding code violations at that time, city council asked for an extension and a later meeting to address the issues.

Des Plaines Theatre hosted a grand opening in November 2011 after substantial renovations were complete.

I believe the aldermen are Denise Rodd south of Dempster and Dick Sayad north. Contact them.Read More Although I do not live in Rodd's ward (Im in the 8th) I am somehow on her mailing list and she keeps wanting to know what she can do for me. Here is something.

I suggest contacting the alderman to raise the profile of what these streets need.
