Des Plaines Resident Arrested by U.S. Immigration Authorities
Individual was one of 44 arrested in a five-day operation in the Chicago area.
A Des Plaines resident was among a group of 44 people arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials in a five-day operation the Chicago area, the Daily Herald reported.
Immigration violators, immigration fugitives and convicted criminals were among those arrested in Chicago and the western suburbs, a press release from ICE stated on Thursday.

The names of those arrested were not released.
Authorities stated that 34 of the 44 people had prior convictions for crimes including domestic batter, weapons possession, arson, aggravated DUI, burglary and drugs.

The 42 men and two women arrested had the following nationalities: Mexico (33), Guatamala (3), Poland (2), El Salvador (2), Honduras (2), Italy (1) and the Philippines (1).
