Des Plaines Houses in Floodplain Could Be Purchased Through Grant Program
A number of Des Plaines homes could qualify for funding earmarked for dealing with problems such as constant flooding, TribLocal reported.
City of Des Plaines officials met with residents last week regarding a program to purchase homes that continue to flood, and qualify for federal funding, TribLocal reported.
Of the budgeted $13.2 million Des Plaines plans to spend on infrastructure in 2013, $4.4 million is planned for flood control, the Daily Herald reported in January.
