Des Plaines Boosting Spending on Infrastructure

The Daily Herald reported that Des Plaines plans to spend about $13.2 million on infrastructure improvements in 2013.

Des Plaines is planning to spend about $13.2 million on infrastructure improvements in 2013, the Daily Herald reported.

The planned spending represents a significant increase over 2012 during which about $7.6 million was spent. The newspaper reported that about $4.4 million will go toward flood control, $2.8 million for streetscape work, $1.7 million for water system improvements, $850,000 for sidewalk repairs and about $500,000 for renovoation of the downtown Metra station.
