Changing of The Guard: Des Plaines Elected Officials Take Office

The new Des Plaines mayor, four aldermen and the city clerk were all sworn into office in front of a room packed with community members.

It was a big night for family, friends and supporters of newly-elected officials in Des Plaines on Monday. Mayor Matt Bogusz, First Ward Alderman Patricia Haugeberg, Third Ward Alderman Denise Rodd, Fifth Ward Alderman James Brookman, Seventh Ward Alderman Joanna Sojka and City Clerk Gloria Ludwig were sworn into office, and celebrated the occasion with family, friends and supporters.

Former Des Plaines mayor and State Rep. Marty Moylan (D-Des Plaines) and former Seventh Ward alderman Dan Wilson received acknowledgement for their public service to the city.
