Wednesday Blotter: Intoxicated Pedestrian; Theft, DUI Charges

2 charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The following items are taken from the Des Plaines Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Charges over minor smoking marijuana

On March 29, police charged Jimmy Montesinos and Ernesto Torres, both 18 and of the 800 block of East Oakton Street, with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Montesinos was also charged with possession of cannabis after police pulled over his vehicle and found a passenger, a minor, who admitted to smoking marijuana with the two teens.

Intoxicated pedestrian

Stanley Baran, 45, was charged April 5 with public intoxication and possession of open alcohol in public after he was spotted wobbling across the street. He also admitted to police that he had an open bottle of vodka with him.

Computer theft from library

A black desktop computer, valued at $300, was reported stolen April 3 from the Des Plaines Public Library. 

Multiple charges against Indiana driver

Roman Mancera Torres, 47, of East Chicago, IN, was charged April 4 with disobeying a traffic control device, improper lane usage and illegal possession of alcohol. He was also charged with two counts of driving under the influence (DUI) and two counts of aggravated DUI.
