Wednesday Blotter: Buying Drugs? Don't Tell Your Friends

Possession of Cannabis

Tuesday Sept. 14 at 11:37 p.m. police, acting on a confidential tip, observed what appeared to be a drug transaction take place on the 800 block of Webster Lane when they saw a man in a silver Chevrolet Malibu pull up to the curb and another man enter the vehicle for about one minute and then exit the vehicle, according to reports. After the man drove away an officer followed him, pulled him over and searched the suspect, who admitted to having cannabis on his person. David Gutierrez, 31, of the 1700 block of Stockton Ave. was charged with possession of cannabis and will appear in court at Skokie Courthouse Oct.22.

Tuesday Sept. 14 at 12 a.m. police responded to a call at the 500 block of S. River Rd. where Morningside Construction has begun the process of taking over a new project, according to reports. A project manager for Morningside Construction told police that an unknown person had entered the construction site and cut and removed approximately 300 ft. of electrical panel wiring, which had been connected through the first and third floors. Property loss is estimated at $1,500.00.

Tuesday Sept. 14 at 1:17 a.m. police responded to a burglar alarm that went off at a residence on the 1800 block of E. Algonquin Rd. Police observed that a rear screen door was ajar as well as a sliding door behind the screen. A basement bathroom window was also dismantled and appeared to be the entry way into the home, according to reports. After clearing the home, police observed that a bedroom on the second floor had many dresser drawers ajar but no other room seemed to be disturbed. The home owner was contacted through family and said nothing appeared to be missing after arriving at the scene.
