Two Structure Fires Burned Simultaneously in Des Plaines

The incidents occurred Saturday evening, the Journal & Topics reports.

 

Two fires broke out about the same time on Saturday, keeping Des Plaines firefighters on the move, the Journal & Topics newspaper reports.

The first fire broke out at the International Paper Factory on 100 E. Oakton Street, where a paper-rolling machine caught fire. Another incident occurred at a residential building at 1634 Howard Street where smoke was seen in the attic of the building. The sprinkler system is credited for controlling the blaze. No injuries were reported in either fire.
