Tuesday Blotter: Man Gets Scammed in Parking Lot, Hit and Run Driver Caught

Man busted for hit and run after cops find him passed out in his vehicle.

The following items are taken from the Des Plaines Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Aggravated DUI

May 15: Des Plaines police busted a man for a hit and run accident in Mount Prospect after they identified the man passed out in a vehicle that matched the description while it was parked in his driveway on the 800 block of East Touhy Avenue. Police say Luis Jose Moreno, 38, had a blood alcohol level of .237 and that a 12-pack of beer, missing eight cans, was found on the front seat as well as an open can in a cup holder. Moreno was charged with aggravated driving under the influence, hit and run and not having a driver's license - ever.
