Tuesday Blotter: Firecrackers Dropped from an Overpass, More

Criminal Trespass to Property

Adrian Luis Moya, 24, of Glenview, was charged with criminal trespass to property at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, after returning to the casino within an hour of being warned not to return between 7:40 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. on June 14. Police stated Moya was asked to leave the casino by security at 6:29 p.m., but he refused. Police were called, Moya was given a warning not to return or he would be arrested, and he left with a friend.

At 7:43 p.m. police were called back to the casino after Moya was found standing by the taxi cab line. Moya was given a court date of July 20 at Skokie courthouse.

Possession of Fireworks without Permit

Michael E. Benbenek, 19, of Arlington Heights, was charged with possession of fireworks without a permit after police saw him light a firecracker in the 400 block of E. Northwest Highway, and drop it off the overpass into Golf Road traffic between 10:18 a.m. and 10:33 a.m. on June 14. Benbenek told police, according to the report, that he threw the firecracker off Northwest Highway in order to see how far it would fall until it exploded.

Benbenek was given a court date of July 3 at Skokie courthouse.

Theft

A Diamondback BMX bicycle, black with red lettering, was reported stolen at Arndt Park, 1990 White St., sometime between 7 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. on June 13. Property loss was estimated at $217.
