Tuesday Blotter: Battery At Rivers Casino and More

Battery

Himler Ady Mando, 48, of Des Plaines, was charged with battery following an altercation with casino security personnel in an incident at Rivers Casino, 3000, S. River Road, between 1:55 a.m. and 2:05 a.m. on April 21, police stated.

Security personnel told police Mando had an argument with a casino supervisor. When security personnel told Mando to leave, according to the report, he refused, and thrust himself at a security agent.

Mando was transported to the Des Plaines police station, charged with battery and given a court date of May 8 at Skokie courthouse.

Theft, Possession of Alcohol by a Minor

Tyler James Holzwarth, 19, of Des Plaines, was charged with theft and possession of alcohol by a minor after he allegedly exited the Dominick’s grocery store, 1555 S. Lee St., with a bottle of vodka that he did not pay for under his jacket between 6:02 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. on April 22, police stated.

Tyler was charged with theft and possession of alcohol by a minor, and given a court date of May 11 at Skokie courthouse.

Possession of Cannabis

Victoria Patricia Grad, age unknown, of Mount Prospect, was charged with possession of cannabis after police conducted a traffic stop in the 700 block of W. Cordial Drive at 9:50 p.m. on April 19.

Police stated they pulled Grad over for an equipment violation and smelled cannabis from inside the vehicle. Police recovered two clear plastic bags from Grad’s coat pockets. Grad was given a court date of May 30 at Skokie courthouse.

Failure to Signal when Required, Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Jessica A. Zuniga, 18, of Des Plaines, was charged with failure to signal when required, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop police conducted in the 1000 block of S. Elmhurst Road at 7:24 p.m. on April 21.

Police stated they recovered a glass smoking pipe from the vehicle. Police also recovered a clear plastic bag with a green plastic grinder with suspected cannabis from Zuniga’s purse.

She was transported to the Des Plaines police station, charged and given a court date of May 30 at Skokie courthouse.
