Train Versus Car Crash Reported in Des Plaines
There is a report of a train versus car crash near 2300 Mannheim Road.
A crash involving a Metra train and a car occurred near Mannheim Road and Touhy Avenue according to a dispatch sent by the Current Incident Notification System at 6:56 p.m.
Another dispatch notice sent at 7:01 p.m. stated that three people were extricated from the vehicle.
The Daily Herald reported that the individuals in the vehicle were able to get out of the vehicle before the train hit the car and that the car might have been stuck on the tracks. The incident delayed Metra's North Central line by about 75 minutes.
