Thursday Blotter: Vehicle Burglarized at Maine West

Overdue Rental

Police were dispatched for a vehicle theft report to the , 2985 Mannheim Road, at 12:07 p.m. on Nov. 14. According to the report, Alonzo Wright, of Berwyn, rented a 2011 silver Ford Explorer SUV on Oct. 18 and failed to return it on Oct. 25, as agreed. A manager told police she has left several messages for Wright and sent him a certified letter. She said Wright owes the company $994.75.

Burglary to Vehicle

Police responded to a burglary to vehicle report in the 1700 block of S. Wolf Road at 2:58 p.m. on Nov. 14. According to the report, an unknown offender removed a radar detector and center dashboard console containing climate controls and a car stereo, valued at $250, from a vehicle parked in the north parking lot at Maine West High School sometime between 7:45 a.m. and 2 p.m. that day. Maine West staff was attempting to retrieve surveillance video of the parking lot at the time the incident report was filed by police.

Theft

Police were dispatched for a theft report in the 1200 block of Rand Road on Nov. 14. According to the report, 30 pieces of red and green scaffolding and 10 cross braces valued at $2500 were removed from the property by unknown offenders sometime between May 1 and Oct. 28. Police asked the owner of the property if there was video from the surveillance camera attached to the building, but he said the camera was overrun by bee hives and has not worked for many years.

Criminal Damage to Property

Police were dispatched for a graffiti report in the 1900 block of Pine Street on Nov. 14. According to the report, the victim noticed black spray paint on the south side of his house a few weeks ago. Sometime after that he noticed green spray on the front of his house as well. He did not have any possible suspect information.
