Thursday Blotter: Stolen Baby Formula, Window Shot with BB, More

Retail Theft

Police were dispatched for a retail theft report at K-Mart, 1155 Oakton Street, at 11:35 a.m. on March 31. According to the report, an unknown female offender placed four packages of dry baby formula in a white canvass bag and exited the store without paying for them. When a store security agent confronted the woman in the parking lot, according to the report, the woman threw the white canvass bag at the agent and fled the scene traveling southbound on Lee Street in a dark green 1995 Jeep Cherokee, which was waiting for her. The white canvass bag also contained makeup and a Bible. Property loss was estimated at $99.65.

Police were dispatched for a vandalism report in the 1800 block of S. Ash Street at 12:49 p.m. on March 30. According to the report, sometime between 4 p.m. on March 29 and 12:48 p.m. on March 30, an unknown offender shot the driver’s side window out of a van parked in front of the residence. The property loss was estimated at $250.

Minors Prohibited from Entering Casino

Police were dispatched for a report of a minor at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, at 1:25 a.m. on April 1. According to the report, William James Ikonomou, 19, of Chicago, used a friend’s state identification card to enter the gaming venue. Ikonomou was issued a citation for minor prohibited from entering a casino, and escorted off the property.
