Thursday Blotter: Minor Vomits from Car, Stolen Bike, More

Minor Consumption of Alcohol, Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Police responded to a report of a person sleeping in the back seat of a car with the doors open, parked in the 1500 block of E. Walnut Avenue at 5:40 a.m. on July 14.

Police found fresh vomit on the grass next to the car, and when they woke the male subject sleeping in the back seat, later identified as Benjamin Ronald Kindle, 18, of Des Plaines, according to the report, he slurred his words, was incoherent and smelled like alcohol.

While police were speaking with Kindle, according to the report, he vomited, again, out the side of the car. When police asked him how much alcohol he drank, Kindle said, according to the report, “a few beers.”

Police recovered a purple nylon bag from the back seat of the car with Kindle’s Illinois state identification card, a scale and grinder, both with suspect cannabis residue, and a plastic container with several bunches of a green plant material that tested positive for cannabis. Police also recovered an open case of Pabst Blue Ribbon beer from the trunk of the car.

Kindle was charged with minor consumption of alcohol, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a court date of Aug. 21 at Skokie courthouse.

The side of a car parked in a business parking lot in the 700 block of W. Oakton Street was scratched sometime between 6:15 a.m. and 6:45 a.m. on July 15, police stated. Property loss was estimated at $300.

Theft

A boys’ black BMX style “Super Co.” bicycle and blue cord lock were reported stolen at McDonald’s, 444 S. River Road, sometime between 10 p.m. and 10:07 p.m. on July 15. Property loss was estimated at $100.
