Thursday Blotter: iPad Stolen, Man Kicked out Casino Three Times, More

Criminal Trespass to Property

Michael E. Walsh, 39, of Chicago, was issued a citation for criminal trespass to property at Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, after a security supervisor told police Walsh had been previously warned not to return to the casino.

Police were informed that employees of the casino had an incident involving Walsh over the winter in which he was accused of stealing money and being disorderly. Police were not contacted because Walsh had made restitution, and he was given a document instructing him he was no longer welcome at the casino.

Security personnel told police Walsh was kicked out of the casino a second time in April 2012 because he refused to provide his social security number after losing more than $10,000, which is required by state laws.

Walsh was escorted off casino property by casino staff.

Theft

An Apple iPad in a black leather case was reported missing by a man who told police he left the device in a rental car he returned to Advantage Car Rental, 2170 S. Mannheim Road, at 1 p.m. on June 10. A supervisor at the business told the man there was not an iPad in the car he returned. Property loss was estimated at $600.

Criminal Damage to Property

Police reported a road sign was vandalized with silver and purple paint markers at the intersection of Forth and Walter avenues at 9:30 a.m. on June 11. Property loss was estimated at $50.
