Thursday Blotter: Rental Car Not Returned, Reported Stolen

Vehicle Theft

Police were dispatched for a vehicle theft report at Ace Rent-a-Car, 2985 Mannheim Road, at 11:08 a.m. on April 18. Police stated that a man had not returned a rented vehicle after being contacted on multiple occasions.

Daniel Gamboa, 31, of Oakbrook, was charged with battery following an altercation at River Casino’s between 3:19 to 3:26 a.m. on April 22.

Police stated Gamboa allegedly kicked the victim in the abdomen and tried to throw a punch.

Gamboa was given a court date of May 31 at Skokie courthouse.

Suspicious Incident

Police responded to a suspicious incident in the 600 block of W. Debra Drive at 7:12 p.m. on April 22. According to the report, while a juvenile was walking on the sidewalk an older tan car pulled up along side her and parked on the wrong side of the street. Two men, one possibly in his 50s and one in his 20s, exited the vehicle, and the juvenile ran into a nearby house. The car left soon after.

Minor Prohibited from Entering Casino

Zachary Michael Kotowski, 20, of Melrose Park, was charged with minor prohibited from entering casino after Rivers Casino security personnel detained him after he entered through a side door at 12:30 a.m. on April 21. According to the report, Kotowski was issued a citation and left the casino in a taxi.
