Thursday Blotter: Burglary to Vehicle, Underage Drinking, Malicious Mischief
Woman reports unknown offenders poured sticky substance in gas tank.
The following items are taken from the Des Plaines Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Burglary
May 2: The front door of a business on the 300 block of East Howard Avenue was shattered and a desktop computer and mouse stolen.

Burglary to motor vehicle
April 30: A woman reported that she saw three suspicious men near her vehicle, which was parked in a lot on the 1300 block of East Rand Road. When she went outside to investigate the men were gone, her passenger window had been shattered and her satellite radio holder had been taken.

April 30: A woman reported that the passenger window of her vehicle had been shattered and her radar detector stolen while it was parked in a lot on the 1300 block of East Rand Road.
May 2: A man reported that two cell phones were stolen from his vehicle while it was parked in a lot near the 600 block of South Wolf Road. The offenders gained access to the vehicle through a partially open window.
Malicious mischief
May 3: A woman reported that someone poured an unknown sticky, brown liquid into the gas tank of her vehicle while it was parked outside her home on the 1300 block of Dennis Place.
Minor consumption of alcohol
May 5: Police performed a traffic stop on the 1800 block of Pine Court and found the driver to have a suspended license. Obed Acosta, 31, of the 1800 block of Pine Court was charged with driving on a suspended license and having suspended registration for mandatory insurance. The passenger, Alejandro Acosta, 19, also of the 1800 block of Pine Court was charged with minor consumption of alcohol.
