Thursday Blotter: Battery, Burglary

Argument between man and his boss turns physical.

The following items are taken from the Des Plaines Police Department. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. The arrested person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Battery

May 20: A man phoned police after getting into a physical altercation with his boss at a business on the 1700 block of Busse Highway. Zoran Calovic, 58, of the 2300 block of Claremont Lane in Lake in the Hills was charged with battery after a heated argument turned physical. Calovic admits to grabbing the victim by the throat, according to a police report, but says he did so after the victim began poking him in the chest. Calovic said the victim was being verbally abusive to his (Calovic) son.
