Thursday Blotter: $75K in Jewelry, Cash Stolen, Inflatable Pool Slashed, More

Burglary

Jewelry valued at $65,000 and $10,000 in cash were reported stolen from a residence in the 1000 block of Wicke Avenue sometime between 6:30 p.m. on July 21 and 6:30 a.m. on July 22, police stated.

The rear garage service door was pried open, and the door leading to the house from the garage was unlocked.

All the drawers and cabinets were rummaged through, and a small safe, which contained the jewelry and cash, was pried open. Property loss was estimated at $75,050.

Profanity was spray-painted on a shed, and an inflatable pool was slashed at a residence in the 500 block of S. Warrington Road sometime between 8:50 p.m. and 9 p.m. on July 23, police stated. Property loss was estimated at $150.

Attempted Burglary

Police responded to an attempted burglary report at an apartment building in the 500 block of Ida Street at 9:44 p.m. on July 23.

Police found one apartment door with pry marks, and residents reported hearing knocking on the door, and the doorknob being jiggled at approximately 4:30 p.m. on July 23. Nothing was reported missing, and no other pry marks were found in the building. Property loss was estimated at $150.
