The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the three people who died when their passenger car crashed with a village of Skokie garbage truck and burst into flames last week.
All three passengers of the car were killed, according to police. The medical examiner's office has identified them as Gwi Rye Kim, 65; Jung Ran Min, 51; and Won Suk Lim, 56, according to a spokesperson. She said the medical examiner’s office was not yet able to provide their genders or addresses as of Tuesday morning.
At least two of the three people who died in the fiery wreck worked at San Soo Gab San Korean BBQ, 5247 N. Western Ave. in Chicago. The restaurant posted a message on its Facebook page last Wednesday about the car crash.
“Please give your prayers to our two employees who passed away yesterday in the horrific garbage truck accident in Glenview,” the restaurant wrote. “Pray for them and their families.”
An employee told Patch that the son and daughter of the people who died were on their way to the United States from Korea.
Glenview Police were not immediately available for comment Tuesday morning.
