Purse Stolen from Apartment, More in Monday Blotter

The following arrest information was supplied by the Des Plaines Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.

Residential Burglary

A purse containing a cell phone, cash, debit cards and other items was reported stolen, police stated, from inside an apartment on the 600 block of Colonial Lane between 9 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. on Feb. 11.

A witness told police she left the door to the apartment partially open while she ran out to her vehicle to get something, according to the report, and returned to find the purse missing from the apartment. Property loss was estimated at $450.

Criminal Damage to Vehicle

Two windows on a parked vehicle were broken on the 1900 block of S. Chestnut Street sometime between 11:30 p.m. on Feb. 10 and 10:54 a.m. on Feb. 11. The windshield was also cracked, police stated, and property loss was estimated at $400.

Criminal Damage to Property

The wall of a townhome building on the 2000 block of S. Pine Street was vandalized with green spray paint sometime between 6 p.m. on Feb. 11 and 10 a.m. on Feb. 12, police stated.

A second wall on a different townhome building on the 2000 block of S. Pine Street was also vandalized with green spray paint sometime between 6 p.m. on Feb. 11 and 10 a.m. on Feb. 12, police stated.

I believe the aldermen are Denise Rodd south of Dempster and Dick Sayad north. Contact them.Read More Although I do not live in Rodd's ward (Im in the 8th) I am somehow on her mailing list and she keeps wanting to know what she can do for me. Here is something.

I suggest contacting the alderman to raise the profile of what these streets need.
