Purse Stolen at School, Winning Ticket Theft at Rivers Casino, More in Thursday Blotter

The following arrest information was supplied by the Des Plaines Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.

Burglary to Vehicle

A purse was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked at St. Zachary’s school, 567 W. Algonquin Road, while a parent brought her child into the building between 8 a.m. and 8:10 a.m. on Nov. 13.

Police stated the owner of the purse received a call from Colonial Park Apartments, 730 W. Algonquin Road, stating her purse had been located along a fence.

Items missing from the purse included credit cards, $35 cash and other personal items. Property loss was estimated at $35.

Theft

Police responded to a theft report a Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, at 3:58 p.m. on Nov. 17. A casino patron told police she got up from her seat at a video poker game to use the washroom and asked some unknown women to watch her things. When she returned approximately 10 minutes later, according to the report, her winning ticket was missing. She put $500 into the machine and had won $574.25, according to the report. Casino security told the patron, according to the report, an unknown male subject cashed her ticket.

Theft

Police responded to a theft report at the Best Western hotel, 1231 S. Lee St., at 3 p.m. on Nov. 20. Police stated $600 cash had been reported missing from a purse by a hotel guest.

Theft

A wallet was reported stolen from a purse at a business on the 600 block of Potter Road between noon and 5 p.m. on Nov. 19. The wallet, which police reported contained a driver’s license, $6 cash and other cards, was removed from an unattended purse under a desk at the business. The owner of the wallet and purse told police, according to the report, she received a call from her credit card company alerting her to charges made in unknown locations. Property loss was estimated at $50.
