Police Seek Driver in Hit and Run

5-year-old victim suffered a fractured clavicle

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information concerning a hit and run accident on the 400 block of Hoover Road in the Oasis Mobile Home Park, 7500 Elmhurst Road, that left a 5-year-old boy with a fractured clavicle and multiple abrasions to come forward.

The victim was playing with a friend around 3 p.m. on May 20 when he was struck by the vehicle on his left side, after he ran into the street to retrieve a ball. The boy was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital by the Elk Grove Township Fire Department.

Both children gave authorities different descriptions of the vehicle – one said it was a small green car, while the other said it was a black SUV or pickup truck.
