Paintballs Shot From SUV, More in Monday’s Police Blotter

The Des Plaines Police Department provided the following reports.

Burglary to Vehicle

Tools including drills, saws and a socket set were removed from a van parked in a residential driveway on the 1500 block of Fifth Avenue sometime between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. on May 2, police stated. No sign of forced entry was found on the vehicle, according to the report. Property loss was estimated at $2,500.

Theft

Cash and a personal check were reported stolen at Longhorn Steakhouse, 1470 Touhy Avenue, at 7:57 p.m. on April 30. A woman sitting at a table with her purse near her feet noticed the top was open, and $700 in cash and a personal check were missing, police stated.

Battery

Unknown offenders shot paintballs at residents through the back window of a dark color, newer model SUV with chrome rims that was traveling southbound on Second Avenue near the 1000 block of E. Hollywood Avenue at 10:56 p.m. on May 1, police stated. The man who was hit with the paintballs declined medical treatment, according to the report. Police searched the area but did not locate the SUV, according to the report.
