OMG PD: Odd Crimes in Our Patch Region

This week: Charity donations, a new car, construction equipment, Rogaine and beer were stolen.

Local police departments provided the following reports. In all incidents where an arrest occurred, a charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt.

Two women stole Rogaine hair medication from an Evanston CVS/pharmacy.

A car parked in Skokie was found with eggs, ketchup and mustard thrown on it. The victim suspects the incident is tied to Niles West High School.

A Bobcat cement breaker and plate compactor valued at more than $20,000 were stolen from a rental business in Skokie.

Police reviewed a video surveillance tape at a Skokie grocery store that showed a man burglarizing the establishment, emptying the contents of registers and donation containers into his bag.

A woman broke the revolving door of a Northbrook Dominick’s and stole a case of beer, according to police. 

A car drove off with the gas pump still attached from an Evanston Shell station.

A donation box and gift shop box containing approximately $90 were reported missing from a synagogue in Northbrook.

A 2010 Dodge sedan was reported stolen in Skokie. Police were unable to find tire tracks at the scene, leading them to suspect the vehicle was towed away.

A Skokie woman allegedly struck another vehicle in a Jewel parking lot, and then fled the scene. Police caught up with her and she was charged with DUI.

A man borrowed a green 2001 Jeep Cherokee three weeks ago and failed to return it to its Evanston owner, prompting its owner to file a stolen vehicle claim.
