Not Guilty: Former Maine West Coach Acquitted in Hazing Case

Former Maine West coach acquitted of hazing charges.

Former Maine West High School soccer coach Michael Divincenzo has been acquitted of hazing charges, the Daily Herald Reported.

The newspaper reported that Judge Jeffrey T. Warnick said that Divincenzo did not know about the hazing and did not condone such behavior.

Last year Divincenzo was fired by school District 207 over the hazing allegations. Lawsuits filed by former students alleged that school officials knew about hazing at Maine West for years and allowed it to continue. Divincenzo has denied any wrongdoing and dropped a challenge to his termination only after coming to an agreement with District 207.
