Monday Police Blotter: $4,000 Tool Theft, Package Stolen From Home

The following arrest information was supplied by the Des Plaines Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Vehicle vandalism

A man reported that an unknown person broke his vehicle’s windows in the 1300 block of Shagbark Drive on Jan. 5. No items were reported missing.

A car parked in the 2000 block of Pine Street had its windshield damaged. The incident was reported on Jan. 6.

Aggravated DUI

Edgar Nmi Munoz, 31, of Wheeling, was charged with aggravated DUI, speeding, driving on a revoked license, no insurance, among several other charges on Jan. 5.

Munoz was stopped in the 400 block of River Road for speeding; he was going 69 mph in a 40 mph zone, the report stated. It was later revealed that Munoz recently had his license revoked from a previous DUI, the report stated.

Theft from auto

About $500 worth of tools were reported stolen from a van parked in the 1500 block of Walnut Avenue on Jan. 7.

BB gun damage

A car parked in the 1400 block of Ashland Avenue had several of its windows damaged with a BB gun. The incident was reported on Jan. 6.

Stolen package

A man reported a package stolen from outside his home in the 1700 block of Linden Street on Jan. 7. The package was valued at around $250, the report stated.

Vehicle vandalism

A man reported that an unknown person broke his driver’s side window of his parked vehicle in the 1300 block of Howard Avenue on Jan. 6.

$4K tool theft

A man reported about $4,400 worth of tools stolen from his vehicle parked in the 200 block of Dover Drive on Jan. 7.
