Monday Blotter: Burglaries Reported

Burglary

Police responded to a burglary report at a condo building in the 1600 block of E. Thacker Street at 8:37 p.m. on May 17. According to the report, sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 8:15 p.m. on May 17 an unknown offender removed an Apple computer and assorted jewelry from the residence. Property loss was estimated at $6,395.

Bracelets, rings, watches and other jewelry were reported missing at a residence in the 1300 block of Brown Street, police reported. Sometime between 6:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m. on May 17 an unknown offender removed the items from the property. Property loss was estimated at $2,500.

Possession of Cannabis

Luis E. Gomez-Garcia, 19, of Des Plaines, was charged with possession of cannabis after police observed Gomez-Garcia throw a zip-lock bag containing a green, leafy substance, suspected to be cannabis, on the ground near a trailer home in the 800 block of E. Oakton Street between 12:20 p.m. and 12:24 p.m. on May 16. He was given a court date of June 28 at Skokie courthouse.
